A beautiful, rare, Australian Rainbow Lattice Sunstone, bezel set in an open back, sterling silver ring.
The stone is responsibly sourced and the ring itself was handcrafted from 100% recycled sterling silver sheet and wire in my garden studio.
Rainbow Lattice Sunstone is a really rare stone that’s only found in a remote area of the northern Australian desert named the Mud Tank Zircon Field - also pretty new to the gemstone world as it wasn’t discovered until 1985.
It’s a greyish, transparent stone with black blades and triangle inclusions of magnetite and orangey brown platelets of hematite which create the lattice effect. Amazingly it displays both adventurescence which is the shimmering glittering effect you see with normal sunstone. AND adularescence which is the ethereal glow that you get with Moonstone.
What you see depends on lighting and the angle at which you look at it. Sometimes it will appear as just a greyish stone with dark inclusions and you have to move it around a bit to discover the secret sparkle.
As well as only being found in a small, remote area, the material is difficult to cut so gem sized pieces are rare and valuable.
It’s believed to empower its wearer, helping them to find their inner strength and confidence, initiate positive changes in their lives and be a better leader.
